On Tuesday 21st March Professor Ziarati and his assistant, Maria Veligrantaki, visited the Imagineer Productions workplace based in Coventry to find out more about what they are doing and their plans for the future. Jane Hytch gave us a good summary of their work and showed us some of the projects they were working as well as talking to us about some their past projects. While the visit lasted only an hour it was very informative about their work and plans.
The visit included a tour of the facilities and also a close up look of Lady Godiva statue. Imagineer Productions were responsible for making the Lady Godiva statue used in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in 2012. Unfortunately Lady Godiva’s horse was kept in another facility but the Lady herself was very impressive by itself, certainly more than just seeing her in the TV screen.
Some of the past and current projects are depicted below along with Lady Godiva. There are plans to hold an INSPIRE-Group workshop as part of an Imagineer Production event in September 2017. More on this later.
